About XIRENV

XIRENV is the creative practice of Chicana artist Crystal Andres—a multidisciplinary illustrator, storyteller, and maker whose work explores identity, cultural memory, and the emotional landscapes we carry with us.

Drawing from her Oaxacan heritage, anthropology background, and Southern California upbringing, she creates narrative worlds through prints, handmade zines, paintings, public art, and collectible objects. Her visual language blends lowrider aesthetics, folklore, nostalgia, humor, and quiet moments of introspection into characters and stories that feel both deeply personal and universally familiar.

Each body of work is part of an expanding archive where illustration becomes memory, objects become artifacts, and storytelling extends beyond the page. Whether through a pocket-sized zine or an immersive installation, XIRENV invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and find pieces of themselves within the work.
